“From hemp fields and bio-based resin precursors to fully bio-based composites and beyond!”

It’s official : the SSUCHY-Next project has issued its first press release, marking the start of a new innovation journey in bio-based composites production.

A European consortium to match ambitions

SSUCHY-Next brings together a network of 17 partners from 6 European countries, combining academic expertise, industrial know-how and technological innovation.

Building on the results of the previous project SSUCHY, the consortium aims to transform hemp fibers and bio-based resins into composites, and integrate them in industrial solutions including :

A 12.6-meter wind turbine blade,
laminated beams, transparent wood.

Each product will go through tests and certifications phases to reach TRL 7, a guarantee of their industrial potential.

A clear, ambitious roadmap

This project is structured around three main priorities:

Build solid value chains, from hemp fiber production to bio-based resins.
Extend the industrial applications of bio-based composites to key sectors such as wind energy and construction.
Ensure the sustainability and circularity of materials through innovative strategies and analysis.
